Frequently Asked Questions

What is music therapy?

Music therapy is the evidence-based incorporation of music into the therapeutic process; music therapists will use music-based intervention in addition to other techniques within their scope of practice to provide a therapeutic experience. LCTPS aims to expand Louisville music therapy programming to meet the needs of our community. Music can be especially helpful in expressing emotions we may have difficulty verbalizing initially; as Hans Christian Andersen once said, "Where words fail, music speaks."

How long does each therapy session take?

Session lengths can be adjusted based on your needs, but typically a single session is approximately 45-60 minutes long.

Do you offer sliding scale rates?

We work to meet the financial needs of our clients, and we do offer a sliding scale based on income. For more information on pricing, give us a call at 502.694.0919
